EmpowerPH | Globe powers MMDA’s traffic and public safety monitoring with advanced Mobile Command Center | Globe recently affirmed its partnership with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, powering its traffic management and public safety monitoring with a state-of-the-art Mobile Command Center (MCC).
The MCC was first deployed during President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s recent State of the Nation Address (SONA), where it supported on site traffic and security monitoring.
Robert Aquino, Senior Director for Sector Relations at Globe, represented Globe at the launch, led by Atty. Romando Arte, MMDA Acting Chair along with other MMDA officials.
“We are very thankful to Globe Telecom for its donation. The donated facility is in line with the agency’s continuous pursuit of enhancing traffic management and public safety capabilities and promoting resilience in the face of natural disasters,” said MMDA Acting Chairman Atty. Don Artes at the unveiling and blessing of the MCC.
“Globe’s support for the MMDA symbolizes our commitment to leveraging technology for public safety and disaster resilience. We are grateful for Chairman Artes’ leadership and his dedicated staff for making us part of this important initiative,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe’s Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer.
The MCC is outfitted with a portable command and dispatch system, multiple live monitors, multimode radio, remote CCTVs, and drone capabilities. It is also linked to the newly enhanced MMDA Communications and Command Center, housed at the agency’s headquarters in Ortigas, Pasig City.
The MCC is also equipped with a surveillance system with eight deployable cameras that can be monitored through a video wall for comprehensive situational awareness. It also offers satellite internet service, making it capable of serving as a mobile incident command post even in provincial areas if directed by President Marcos.
All these features will enable real-time coordination and communication among MMDA personnel both in the MCC and on the ground.
The MCC may also be used by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) to respond efficiently to emergencies.
The MMDA plans to utilize the equipment for monitoring major public events such as the Traslacion or the annual Feast of Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno, which draws large crowds, as well as during disasters and urgent road incidents.
Globe remains a steadfast ally of the government in its efforts to enhance service delivery and ensure public safety. The company is committed to using technology for the greater good of the Filipino community.

The MMDA’s new Mobile Command Center is equipped with state-of-the-art communications and monitoring equipment.
